Why consider a fastcure system?

New polyaspartic resin flooring now offers a faster installation timetable compared to traditional resin. Whether you are upgrading your existing floor or installing a brand new floor, a polyaspartic system can reduce installation time from days to hours.

Solution for all environments

Compared to traditional fast cure systems, like MMA, polyaspartic has a low odour. This enables us to install our systems in restaurants, offices and retail environments whilst staff and customers are in neighbouring rooms. Kitchens are also perfect for a fast cure system as polyaspartic has no food taint. The system can even be laid at low temperatures and low humidity, making it a perfect solution for most environments.

Polyaspartic systems are made without the use of harmful solvents and minimal
volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Develop a regular cleaning programme suited to the usage and traffic of the area

Heavily trafficked or highly visible areas need to be cleaned more often than areas which are seldom used, or where appearance is less important. Optimum slip resistance can only be maintained with regular cleaning. The best and most cost effective method of cleaning your resin flooring is by machine.

Care should be taken to use appropriate brushes. Nylon brushes must not be used. Remember that dirty equipment, particularly mops, does not clean but merely redistributes the dirt.

Use recommended cleaning chemicals

Only recommended cleaning liquids or their equivalent, which are suitable for cleaning resins should be used, and in the correct concentration. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions at all times and do not mix cleaning liquids.  

Always allow cleaning liquid sufficient time to break down the deposits. In wet locations such as bathrooms, showers or swimming pool surrounds, do not use antiseptic cleaners which may leave an oily residue.

In areas that are prone to lime scale the periodic use of a lime scale removing cleaning chemical should be  as part of a routine cleaning programme. (Always follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for dilution.)

Remove scuff marks regularly

to remove any rubber heel marks scrub lightly by hand, using scouring powder if necessary. Care should be taken not to abrade the sheen if attempting to remove marks from the surface of any high design, decorative resins.

Protect newly laid floors

All newly laid resin floor surfaces should be covered and protected from all other trades with a suitable non staining protective covering. The protection should only be put in place when the floor has cured after 48 hours at 20°C (longer may be necessary at lower temperatures). At no time should free water or high levels of moisture become trapped beneath the protection, as this will affect the surface appearance. Using entrance matting should enhance the longevity of the flooring.

Never use polishes and seals

As they affect the slip resistance of the flooring. Antistatic flooring should never be polished or sealed.

Causes and avoidance of staining

Certain chemicals will cause dulling and discolouration if left on the floor for a long time. The most suitable floor colour for particular traffic conditions should always be selected, e.g. darker colours will give improved performance in areas of heavy staining but may show scratches more.

High quality cleaning chemicals and equipment ensure efficient maintenance and represent only a small proportion of maintenance costs.
